Privacy Policy
Effective October 15, 2026
HandyNerds is a service of Cranial Thunder LLC, a Virginia limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect through handynerds.com and when you contact us, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message. We also record your IP address and the time you sent it, to block spam.
- Calls and texts. Your phone number and anything you tell us, so we can schedule and do the work.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our server records each request: IP address, page requested, browser type, referring page, and time. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure. They are deleted after about two weeks.
- Spam protection. To limit repeated submissions, the server keeps a one-way scrambled version of your IP address for up to one hour.
- Bot check. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots, usually without you doing anything. Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic browser information for this check and handles it under its own Turnstile privacy policy. Turnstile does not use cookies for advertising or track you across sites.
What we do not do
- We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers, or social media pixels.
- Apart from the Turnstile bot check on the contact form, everything on this site, including fonts, comes from our own server.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information for marketing.
How we use your information
Only to answer you, schedule and provide service, send invoices, and keep basic business records. Messages are delivered to our own mail server, not a third-party form service.
When we share it
Only if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property, or safety. If you ask us to work with a vendor on your behalf (for example, your internet provider), we share only what that job needs.
How long we keep it
Messages and job records are kept as long as needed to serve you and meet tax and legal requirements. Server logs are kept for about two weeks.
Security
We use HTTPS for the whole site and keep reasonable administrative and technical safeguards for the information we hold, as New York law requires for information about New York residents. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we hold about you. Contact us by phone or text at (703) 249-9442 or through the contact form. We will reply within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
